Verification by DNA sequencing
Asper has been using APEX-based DNA testing since 1999. After realizing that our partners confirmed the results with a secondary method before using them for their applications, Asper worked out a new service: verification of the APEX findings by an alternative technology. Asper is now in a position in which we are ready to couple APEX technology with dideoxy sequencing.
The report will include actual sequencing data in addition to the APEX data. Performing APEX-based testing as a first level screen is a cost-effective alternative to complete gene sequencing.
Sequencing will be performed under strict quality control regulations by professionally trained personnel on an Applied Biosystems 3730XL Genetic Analyzer.
Returning of DNA samples
The material that our partners/clients ship to Asper Biotech is unique. Therefore the total amount of DNA is usually very limited. Asper Biotech will use as little of that material as possible, and therefore there will usually be leftovers of the shipped material. We now have an option wherein these leftovers can be shipped safely back to our partner/client.
Hard copy of the report
Asper Biotech’s preferred communication channel has been electronic mail, as it is the fastest possible delivery channel. However, there are occasions when a hard copy of the results is required. Asper Biotech can provide the results on the company’s official letterhead upon request. The hard copy will be sealed and signed by the head of the lab and sent to customers by registered airmail.
