NEW TEST DEVELOPMENT - CUSTOM GENOTYPING SERVICE

Asper Biotech offers custom genotyping services, and can help in carrying out an entire genotyping project including new assay design, validation and routine DNA screening based on its APEX technology platform. Asper uses its proprietary Genorama® platform for the genotyping service. The platform combines the high parallelism and efficiency of microarray with the accuracy of primer extension. APEX is performed on a two-dimensional array of oligonucleotides on glass surface.

From tens up to hundreds of SNPs/mutations are simultaneously screened with highly sensitive, reproducible and cost-effective manner. Genotyping can be performed for different organisms.

Our competent scientists will take a collaborative approach in planning the development and DNA screenings. During each step of the process the customer is involved through extensive and open communication. Moreover, even after completion of the project we will be always there for you to discuss or validate the results, help you in publishing the results and supporting the preparation of the next study. We would be happy to provide you with our five year experience in managing genotyping and mutation detection projects.

All the processes are carried out in a well established ISO 9001:2000 quality control environment and according to GLP.

INFORMATION REQUIRED FOR CUSTOM CHIP DESIGN

SNP analysis

• gene name

• SNP ID numbers (rs#, http://snpper.chip.org)

• If the SNP is not available in public databases we need 200 bp of flanking sequence to the both direction 

Mutation analysis

• gene name; reference to the base sequence to be used 

• location of the mutation 

• 400 bp flanking sequence to the both direction 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DNA SAMPLES

• The quality of the DNA needs to be ensured by our partner.
• The amount of genomic DNA required depends on the particular assay. Please contact Asper for further details.
• Preferred concentration range is 100-250 ng/µl., especially in case of buffered samples
• DNA samples are recommended to be solved in pure sterile water, whenever possible.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SHIPMENT OF THE SAMPLES

• For speedy and secure delivery, international courier services, for example DHL, UPS and FedEx, are recommended; alternatively, you can send samples by air mail. 

• Since high quality DNA samples are stable, there is no need for shipment in dry or wet ice.
  Care should be taken to avoid drying out; please use either screw cap tubes or wrap the caps of each Eppendorf tube with parafilm. 

• In order to avoid damage to the tubes during shipment, a tube storage box made of plastic or cardboard, and doubling it with a padded envelope, is recommended. Please avoid using round containers, such as 50 ml Corning tubes, for tube protection.

• Notify us by email (info@asperbio.com , or the respective project manager), including the number of samples, which test is to be performed, and tracking data).

• Enclose in the package the list of samples, which test is to be performed and quality data, if available. 

• Please make sure that the declared value for the package in the shipment documents does not exceed 10 EUR (USD).
