The
Genorama® Genotyping Platform is a flexible, robust and
affordable mutation detection platform suitable for arrayed primer
extension (APEX) based mutation detection. All components of the Asper’s
proprietary platform have been specifically designed and tested for APEX
based applications.

Asper offers two different packages of
the platform:
I STANDARD GENORAMA® PACKAGE
Standard Genorama® package includes the four colour instrument, the relevant software, set-up of the instrument and basic training.
II APEX PACKAGE
Asper has specifically established a
package for APEX users, consisting of additional specific gear and instrumentation required for successfully performing APEX based testing. Asper strongly recommends to purchase the APEX package along
with the platform, however it can also be shipped later.

Re-design of ready-to-use
chips
In case the existing tests does not contain all the mutations of interest, Asper Biotech is ready to customize the tests by including additional mutations.
Custom test development
Beside the
customization of existing tests, the totally new test development is also
provided. Leave the design, development and validation for specialists - Asper’s project managers use their more than
seven years of experience in development of various APEX based tests and establish test for you, completely tailor made.
Asper’s spotting facility would order the oligos, store them and spot high-quality slides for you during and after the development process. There are no large minimum requirements, so you have in between spotting room for redesign and you’ll get after the next spotting run completely new version of your test.
If
specific tests are required, APEX is a platform to choose because of it’s
robustness – it is easy and affordable to establish custom tests for testing
tens of genes in one reaction.
Asper needs the
following information and materials
to start the custom chip development
SNP analysis
- SNP ID numbers (rs#, http://snepper.chip.org)
- DNA concentration and method of extraction
- If the SNP is not available in public databases we need sequence of
- 400 bp flanking area (if you send us genomic DNA)
- 25 bp flanking area (if you send us a PCR product).
NB! PCR must
be performed according to our protocol in order to ensure incorporation of
a small fraction of dUTP into your PCR products for fragmentation.)
- location/sequence of the PCR primers in case you already have designed
them
- in case you order chip validation, please send us appropriate DNAs, one
per each SNP on the chip and including information about the SNP in the sample.
Mutation analysis
- location of the mutation with
- 400 bp flanking sequence, if you send us
genomic DNA
- 25 bp flanking sequence, if you send us a PCR product.

Genorama® Microarray
slides
Genorama® Microarray
Slides are developed and tested primarily for DNA-based applications.
However, nucleic acids, proteins, small molecules, cells and extracts can
also be immobilized. The activated glass slides are produced under rigorous
quality control and tested for low background and good immobilization
characteristics. As a result, the slides have a very clean and uniform
surface, highly suitable for printing top quality microarrays. The
microarray slides have a double-sided coating with a printable area of 23 x
73 mm.

Custom spotting service
Asper Biotech offers a
complete solution for custom microarray spotting, including array design for
APEX genotyping or providing oligos through its partners. The know-how and
experience at Asper helps researchers achieve the best quality microarrays.
We use VersArray ChipWriter Pro (BioRad) and GMS Arrayer 417 (Affymetrix).
