GENORAMA® QUATTROIMAGERTM Genorama® QuattroImagerTM is a four-channel microarray imaging and analysis system, specifically designed for repetitive analysis of multiple slides. International patent application is filed for Genorama® QuattroImagerTM microarray imaging system. The working principle of the system is based on total internal reflection fluorescence excitation mechanism combined with a charge coupled device (CCD) detector. The signals from the spectrally separated dyes are resolved with dual selection by laser excitation and band-pass filtering of the emitted fluorescence. At low penetration angles, total internal reflection results when light propagating within a dense medium (e.g. glass) reaches an interface with a less dense medium (e.g. air or aqueous solution). Although the light is fully reflected, an evanescent field is generated that extends beyond the interface and into the less dense medium. Typically, the penetration depth (or the thickness of evanescent field) is in the range of half the wavelength of the light. Only fluorophores bound to the surface will be excited and therefore fluoresce contributing to an enhanced signal to noise ratio. The fluorescence signals from the spectrally separated dyes are resolved with the dual selection by monochrome laser excitation and narrow band-pass filtering of the emitted fluorescence. Imaging is followed by software analysis to convert the acquired fluorescence image into the sequence data.
