Asper Biotech is a genetic testing SME with a long-lasting experience in developing novel DNA tests as well as performing routine DNA screening tests for numerous clinical areas.
Company has a strong scientific team, consisting of scientists and medical professionals supported by experienced laboratory personnel. This has created a good background for constant innovation in bringing state-of-the-art DNA tests to the market. Our unique and powerful technology called Arrayed Primer Extension (APEX) allows simultaneous analyzing hundreds of DNA variations in hundreds of genes in a very cost effective way. APEX method enables us to develop and implement accurate and highly sensitive diagnostic tools that have been used by hundreds of centers worldwide.

During the last 14 years, we have had successful collaboration with different funding agencies supporting R&D activities, which have eventually led to technological improvements and moreover to state-of-the-art genetic tests. Our expertise on genetic testing is widely recognized by participation in numerous European-wide research projects where Asper Biotech has been incorporated as an essential partner.
Asper Biotech is an appreciated scientific partner for the national and international research projects due to the innovation-driven approach and long-lasting experience. The company has participated as a partner in more than 30 FP6 and FP7 project proposals with 14 projects being successfully financed so far. Participation in FP projects among various international SMEs and Universities has given a great opportunity to develop new ideas and find new collaborators all over the world.

Asper Biotech is constantly interested in being a strong partner in excellent FP7 consortia. Our technical and administrative experience could be a valuable asset for the success of the planned project. Moreover, as a research driven SME from Estonia, we would also balance the complete consortium.
We are interested in participation in a wide variety of projects, which would benefit from integration of custom-made DNA test or screening of DNA samples that would be essential for the completion of the scientific research.
Possible roles of Asper Biotech:
>> Development of novel DNA tests for the diagnostics, the evaluation of prognosis of the disorder or pharmacogenomic applications such as stratifications of patients.
>> Screening of DNA samples with custom built DNA test revealing additional data required for better understanding of the disorder or selecting the patients for a particular cure.
